We saw the morning as an awareness event disguised as a 5K. Our hope was that participants took away a few new pieces of information about the dangers of illicit counterfeit pills and then shared them with 10 people , and then those people could share with 10 more people, so that slowly but surely we can spread awareness and together, help to save lives.
We had a special balloon release tribute to remember the 86 lives that were lost primarily due to illicit fentanyl in Johnson County in 2021
The event included representation from 6 bereaved families in our community who lost loved ones to this epidemic.
